When it comes to good music, we know you’ve got lots of options.
And so to thank you for keeping your dial tuned in to 104.5 the U, Aubrey promises to keep you plugged in to all the hottest events and activities going on around town.
Gift cards to local restaurants, tickets to concerts and plays, registrations to far-off getaways – whether you’re looking for a fun way to spend a weekend with the family or just need a good excuse to enjoy a weeknight out with friends, you’re always bound to score something sweet just by being a part of our listening family.
And while she has giveaways all throughout the week, both on-air as well as through our Facebook page, Aubrey sets aside Monday as a very special day. It’s called the Picnic Party, and she saves her biggest prizes and giveaways for that day.
And what’s a party without jams, right? Well, between all the fun announcements and giveaways Aubrey will also use this hour to unveil all the new tracks introduced to the U lineup.
Prizes, events, new music – all in one hour. It’s the 104.5 the U Picnic Party – every weekday during the 11 am hour, sponsored by Kobe Seafood & Steak.
TUNE IN MONDAY FOR A CHANCE TO WIN:
$25 to GREAT BURN BREWING
It’s been the running joke for years now – Missoula needs a new microbrewery like it needs more Subaru drivers.
But the funny thing about jokes? There’s a little bit of truth in each one. And so yes, despite the ridiculous numbers of new brewpubs – and brewpubs-to-be – we still cherish each and every one for offering a unique take on what it means to batch, serve and celebrate great beer.
This week, we’re highlighting a relatively new microbrewery and taproom on the south side of town. Great Burn Brewing brews its handcrafted ales on a small-batch system, with a focus on hop-centric (or “West Coast style”) beers known for their delicate balance and flavor. They’ve got four so-called “flagship” beers that remain on tap in perpetuity PLUS six more seasonal/rotating ales.
And with a comfortable pub-like atmosphere, it’s also just a fun (read: chill-axed) place to hang out for a while.
Check out Great Burn’s detailed beer menu HERE.
TELL US SOMETHING
-Sept. 10, 2017 at The Wilma-
In a town full of “uniquely Missoula” events, Tell Us Something must top the list.
Basically it goes like this: Organizers set a theme, community members pitch a personal story that fits the theme, and if they meet all the qualifications then they get up on the Wilma stage and share it with us all. From memory. In 10 minutes or less.
Funny, horrifying, heartwarming, ridiculous – the stories are as unique as the folks who bring them to life.
This month’s theme – “It’s Complicated” – triggers a reaction in us before we even hear a single story. Perhaps it’s because of it’s legacy as an unfortunate relationship status on Facebook, or perhaps because we just like things to be simple and clear. Either way, we expect our storytellers this time around will be spending an awful lot of time in the uncomfortable “fuzzy” zone that lies just beyond sure confidence.
For tickets and more event information, visit the event page here.
Doors open at 6 pm, show starts at 7 pm.
For more about the series in general, check out the Tell Us Something website. You’ll also find there a quite extensive collection of podcasts from storytelling events past.
