I haven’t given Christmas two minutes of my time this holiday season. Actually, I just went over to the grocery store to order cookies for my daughter’s holiday party because I don’t have time to bake, first time in a long time that has happened. I still have Thanksgiving décor up in the house! Pumpkins and a large ceramic turkey still litter my family dinner table. Well, the first statement isn’t exactly true; I did order a few ornaments on-line that took 5 minutes to complete. Yah! I’m really rolling in the holiday spirit! So… no presents bought or wrapped, no lights or tinsel, no bows or ribbon, no eggnog or cookies, no cards and no TREE.
What is holding me up? Teenagers. Yep, teens that happen to be involved in winter sports. There’s wrestling, roller derby and skiing! Few! I’m just exhausted thinking about the driving back and forth to practices, meetings and bleacher butt I’m going to get this season.
What to do? Well, I sure hope Santa drops off one of his elves to help. Do they get paid in candy? I heard that somewhere. So don’t feel bad if you’re not ready either…do you have teenagers too?
